Finishing Students 03/03/2017

Goodbye & good luck to all our students that sadly left us last Friday.Congratulations on completing your studies and we hope you enjoyed your time with us here at Lexis!

Now here is a little bit about each of our graduating students…

Seraina is from Switzerland and graduated out of Liz’s Intermediate class.
She has been here at Lexis since the beginning of January.

What has been the best thing about coming to Australia/ Sunshine Coast? 
“Definitely the beach and the sunny weather. i prefer to stay in Maroochydore, it’s a small place and everything to reach by foot.”

Has your English improved since starting at Lexis?
“Yes, of course. To stay in the host family, go to school, learn English and after school practice in real life. I even talked Australian to the bus drivers.”

What was your favourite thing about studying at Lexis?
“To get in contact with other cultures and everybody have the same plan – to learn English.”

What tip would you give someone that wants to learn English?
“Don’t stress yourself. if you don’t understand, ask! Don’t use your dictionary all the time,  it’s easier to learn when someone explains the word.”

Yuxuan Zhou (Edison) is from China and graduated out of Steve’s IELTS class.
He has been in Australia for about a month.

What has been the best thing about coming to Australia/ Sunshine Coast? 
“I think this 3 weeks study in Lexis English school is the best memory for me”

Has your English improved since starting at Lexis?
“Yes I think so, because Lexis gives us very good environment to study, and improve my English skills.”

What was your favourite thing about studying at Lexis?
“I think the test, it helped me know my knowledge level and helped me to improve.”

What tip would you give someone that wants to learn English?
“Practice, the best way is practice.”

Miku is from Japan and graduated from Hayley’s Pre-Intermediate class.
She has been in Australia for about 5 months.

What has been the best thing about coming to Australia/ Sunshine Coast? 
“She had a great teacher and met great friends.”

Has your English improved since starting at Lexis?
“Yes, but I still have to study more.”

What was your favourite thing about studying at Lexis?
“I went surfing with Lexis students”

What tip would you give someone that wants to learn English?
“Sunshine Coast has fantastic sea and views. The school is goof, you will enjoy!.”

Celina is from Switzerland and graduated from Peter’s Upper-Intermediate class.
She has been Australia for 3 months.

What has been the best thing about coming to Australia/ Sunshine Coast? 
“The weather, the beach and the people.”

Has your English improved since starting at Lexis?
“Yes I think I speak more fluently than before and learned some new words.”

What was your favourite thing about studying at Lexis?
“The students and my teacher Peter.”

What tip would you give someone that wants to learn English?
“Don’t connect with the Swiss people (if you are Swiss) or with the people who speak the same first language.”

And last but not least – Atsuko who graduated from Simon’s Sunset Cambridge class.
She has been in Australia for 7 months.

What has been the best thing about coming to Australia/ Sunshine Coast? 
“We have beautiful beaches and a relaxed atmosphere on the Sunshine Coast. Life in Australia is much more simple than Japan. It’s the best place to enjoy myself and have a connection with nature .”

Has your English improved since starting at Lexis?
” I can feel my English has improved a lot. Before I came here I disliked English especially speaking it. However, now I enjoy communicating with lots of international students Lexis has changed my feeling to English dramatically

What was your favourite thing about studying at Lexis?
“We can learn not only English but also different points of view from different cultures as we spend time with international friends. It would be beneficial in out future.”

What tip would you give someone that wants to learn English?
“I’d recommend speaking English without being shy as much as you can. Don’t miss opportunities which are are given. Try everything. The key to improving something is to enjoy it.”
