How long have you been teaching at Lexis Maroochydore and what did you do before you worked here?
I have been working for Lexis for nearly three months. I began teaching a week after i arrived in Australia at the end of November. Before that, I had recently completed my master’s degree in sociology in Dublin.
Do you speak another language and what was your biggest challenge when learning it?
I can speak French and Italian quite well. I have basic knowledge of Spanish and Tirek too. French was always a difficult language to learn for me and even after so many years I still struggle.
Which class are you teaching at the moment?
I am teaching the wonderful Pre- Intermediate class.
Please tell us about a student in your class who you feel has made outstanding progress…
All of them! I think that Caroline has made real progress since beginning the course in January. She become a much more confident speaker and really improved her grammar skills.
What do you enjoy most about teaching at Lexis Maroochydore?
The amazing atmosphere due to a great group of teachers and students.
If you weren’t a teacher, what job do you think you would be doing now?
I would be working for a human rights organisation.
