It was a tough challenge and in the end, the winners were Luis and Dong-Shik  who completed the challenge in just under an hour! Congratulations to the winning team and we hope you enjoy your free tickets to Australia Zoo!

Improving Speaking Through Role Play

Louanne Oaks’ believes that role play is a fun way to practise spoken English and her students all agree.

The Speaking Option topic on Friday was food and restaurants. After pre learning the required vocabulary, the students were given the task to prepare a role play situated in a restaurant. After ordering their meals, a cockroach would be found in the meal and they would need to make a complaint.

The role plays were hilarious and everyone enjoyed the performances. The students all agree that this is a fun and practical way to improve speaking skills.

Student BBQ

Thanks to everyone who came along to the student BBQ on Wednesday. The sun was shining, the food was tasty, and some of our Brazilian students even showed the rest of us how to dance the  Samba!
