Check out the great new school page in the GV Australia 2011 school brochure. Are you in it?
There’s nothing quite like the feel of a brand new school and knowing that every morning you are walking into one of the most attactive learning environments in Australia, with outstanding study resources and recreational facilities, not to mention stunning ocean views from our third floor balcony.

It’s been a great year! So, what better way to end it than having a test in the morning, receiving Secret Santa gifts, singing Christmas tunes, sitting on Santa’s lap and having lunch together? A special thank you to Santa who did a great job giving out the presents. GV Santa Awards were presented to: Manuel (Elementary) for being the most punctual person with a hangover, Harold (Pre-Intermediate A) for turning sleeping in class into an ART FORM, Adriana (Intermediate A) for being the most determined student to get to Maroochydore, Memo (Upper Intermediate) for being the most ambidextrous student and to Sarah (Advanced) for being an eternal optimist and for always having a smile. Have a wonderful and safe Christmas everyone and see you next year. Roll on 2011.
(P.S. Merry Christmas Maddy, Louanne, Nathalie, Adi, Warren, Jenny and Becky- we missed you. See you next year!)
This Friday Global Village Sunshine Coast will hold its Happy Holidays Party!
Unfortunately Kayley was not able to come to school this week but she will be back on Tuesday the 21st with some Christmas biscuits for all students…. so make sure you go and see her.
Tribal Travel would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🙂
On Wednesday the Bli Bli Cable Park was taken over by Global Village Maroochydore students who enjoyed an afternoon of kneeboarding, wakeboarding and skiing.
There were many thrills and spills which made for some great photos. To see them all check out the FACEBOOK page
A summer on the Sunshine Coast means plenty of fun activities and events, with many of them being FREE!
The first event is this Saturday the 18th – ‘Carols on Cotton Tree’
This is a free event in Cotton Tree Park from 6.30-8.30 followed by a fire works extravaganza! The full program can be found HERE
Over the Christmas and New Year period all Sunshine Coast Buses are FREE! This is a great opportunity to see more of the Sunshine Coast with free buses going to and from Caloundra, Coolum Beach, Noosa and throughout the Hinterland Region daily. For more information on free bus services click HERE
Wondering how to celebrate the New Year? Maroochy Surf Club is putting on a Mexican Beach Party while the Alex Surf Club has a Masquerade Party planned. The best place to be at midnight is Mooloolaba Beach where street performers will be roving and Australian musician Josh Pyke will perform. The firework shows are not to be missed! Find a spot on the beach and watch the fireworks light up the sky and ocean.
The Woodford Folk Festival is also a great way to spend your New Years holidays. It is a festival held over 6 days of camping, music, art, Aboriginal Dreamtime, film, comedy and dance. For more information on the festival click HERE
