Mushroom picker – Mt Sippy Mushrooms

Would you like to come and join our current team of 25 ladies picking the mushroom crops on any of our three locations on the Sunshine Coast.

There is no season for mushrooms as they grow all year round. It takes a person approx 3 months to become experienced at picking and grading etc., so therefore this job is not suitable for backpackers or holiday visas.

You must have your own vehicle and be prepared to work any of 7days for approximately 30 to 35 hours per week.

We commence work at 7 am and work until the crops are finished for that day. The mushrooms grow in air conditioned rooms so the work is not affected by the weather, and is pleasant in both summer and winter. A reasonable level of fitness is a requirement as the crops are picked at various levels from a stepped mobile trolley. Experience is not essential but ability to work as a team member and to follow instruction is essential.

Comparatives and Superalatives

The grammar point for this week in the Pre-Intermediate class was comparatives and superlatives. So of course it was the perfect opportunity to create certificates for ‘student of the month’. Students chose an appropriate superlative for a classmate then presented their certificate. Highlights included ‘the wildest hair’, ‘the most considerate’ and ‘the kindest’.

After a very busy weekend of partying a relaxing afternoon of pool and beer was welcomed by the Lexis students. The games were action packed with entertainment as the balls were sent bouncing through the pub and every ball except the coloured ones were consistently shot into the holes. All in all the afternoon was enjoyed by all, see you next time!
